Late night
Step on the carousel
Spend all night
Spinning round and round
Hold tight
Now you don't let go
Until day light
Pours through your window
(you, you)
Sometimes
We talk on the telephone
And it's running dry
The conversation slows
Red lights
And that's not set in stone
Well I'm up all night
Until you get home I long for the smell of your hair, the smell of your hair
And all this time
In a hiding place, in a hiding place
All our lives with a melody (oh)
All this time
Yea we might as well we might as well
Close our eyes
Sing a melody (oh)
(you, you)
Outside
Pours down with rain again
People passing by
Sometimes stop and stare
And our worried eye
With now here nor there
Well I'm stuck in time
Until you are near I long for the smell of your hair, the smell of your hair
And all this time
In a hiding place, in a hiding place
All our lives sing a melody (oh)
All this time
Yea we might as well we might as well
Close our eyes
Sing a melody (oh)
(oh, oh, oh, oh)
And all this time
In a hiding place, in a hiding place
All our lives sing a melody (oh)
All this time
Yea we might as well we might as well
Close our eyes
Sing a melody (oh)

Lyrics: Headlights (Old Version 1)
Late like the evening sun, I
Sink to the ground
I'll keep my promises, I
Won't let you down
Cos like a rabbit in your headlights
I am a beckon to your call
Like the early morning headlines
I am all too predictable
Yea I'm all too predictable (wa ha oh)
Heavy like an iron lung, You
Quietly bound
I'll keep my promises, Like
A thorn in your crown
Cos like a rabbit in your headlights
I am a beckon to your call
Just say your boss is hell high
Cos I'm all too predictable
Yea I'm all too predictable (wa ha oh)
(oh, oh, oh, oh)
True like the first born
Weigh pound for pound
I'll keep my promises, I
I won't let you down
(Lyrics taken from a variety of sources)

Lyrics: On Your Shoulders
A thousand miles across a barren land you find yourself an hourglass
a shade across your world and on your shoulders
She wanna come, she wanna see you right
She's wants to wet your appetite
She's ready to unfurl and then its over
Oh and she's feeling what you're feeling
Oh and seeing is believing
and now you're willing to unlearn your everything
So come on over
won't you turn the tide in me
when it's over are you gonna come and reel me in?
The sun gone sit up in its sickened sky
you're wondering how you're wondering why
you came into my world to hold my hand
you wanna run you wanna come undone
you're burning in the midday sun
you came into my world to satisfy
and you're feeling what I'm feeling
oh and seeing is believing
and now you're willing to unlearn your everything
So come on over
won't you turn the tide in me
when it's over are you gonna come and reel me in?
Yeah you won't see me write your name across my heart
So come over
won't you turn the tide in me
A thousand miles across a barren land you find yourself an hourglass
a shade across your world and on your shoulders

Lyrics: Youth
Sit and wish the world would settle down
Sit and hope the silence in your heart would drown
writing lists of all the things unsaid
and wasting days by spending them in bed
with your youth and your time
and your bruises and bites
with your airs and your graces
Oh c'mon kid, you'll let it all go to waste
So find the cure that's feeding your design
the antidote that keeps your poison out of mind
cos' sticks and stones they never broke your bones
they lit the burning fire in your soul
with your youth and your time
and your bruises and bites
with your airs and your graces
Oh c'mon kid, you'll let it all go to waste
Cut your heart in two
half for me and half for you
pull your inside out
take yourself the long way around
Cos' you are so untrue
Lyrics: Your Majesty
Put your money down, put your money down
you've never looked like one to get the run around
I'm a safe bet, I'm a cold sweat, I'm the voice that whispers in your nightmares
I know you'd like to settle down now,
but you know I like to make a scene yeah,
Come let your pretty eyes ride out of the water
I've got a thousand smiles your majesty
I go for miles and miles and at every altar
Cos' I've got it all locked down your majesty
I'm gonna come clean I wanna be obscene
not one to come on around and meet the family
it's time to wake up, slap on your make up
I wanna see the whites of your eyes
Cos' I know you'd like to settle down now,
but you know I like to make a scene yeah,
Come let your pretty eyes ride out of the water
I've got a thousand smiles your majesty
I go for miles and miles and at every altar
Cos' I've got it all locked down your majesty
Put your money down, put it outta' town
you never looked like one to get the runaround
well I'm a safe bet, I'm a cold sweat, I'm the voice that whispers in your nightmares
Oh you know I'd to stick around, yeah you coulda' seen me come undone
Oh, you and me, we coulda' been amazing
Lyrics: Under The Stars
You know you look so tired
You're gonna stay up late tonight
Under the stars
Well I'll put you in pride of place
I'm gonna set my sight
I'm gonna set your soul alight
Under the stars
Under the stars
So the let the street lights shine the way
To the breaking of the day
In the morning you decay a little
We let a lifetime come undone
Stair straight into the sun
Like the barrel of a gun
Under the stars
Under the stars
Been waiting my whole life
For you to come and waste a while
Out in the dark
In the emptiness of time and space
Been going out my mind
I've got to bring you back to life
You and your heart
You and your heavy heart
So the let the street lights shine the way
To the breaking of the day
In the morning you decay a little
We let a lifetime come undone
Stair straight into the sun
Like the barrel of a gun
Under the stars
Under the stars
You know you look so tired
You're gonna stay up late tonight
Under the stars
Under the stars
Under the stars
Under the stars
You're gonna stay up late tonight
Under the stars
Well I'll put you in pride of place
I'm gonna set my sight
I'm gonna set your soul alight
Under the stars
Under the stars
So the let the street lights shine the way
To the breaking of the day
In the morning you decay a little
We let a lifetime come undone
Stair straight into the sun
Like the barrel of a gun
Under the stars
Under the stars
Been waiting my whole life
For you to come and waste a while
Out in the dark
In the emptiness of time and space
Been going out my mind
I've got to bring you back to life
You and your heart
You and your heavy heart
So the let the street lights shine the way
To the breaking of the day
In the morning you decay a little
We let a lifetime come undone
Stair straight into the sun
Like the barrel of a gun
Under the stars
Under the stars
You know you look so tired
You're gonna stay up late tonight
Under the stars
Under the stars
Under the stars
Under the stars
So the let the street lights shine the way
to the breaking of the day
for tonight all of the saints are sinners
and I can feel we're coming up
like our hearts are filling up
like its rushing through our blood
under the stars
Lyrics: Speechless
Twenty seconds on the backlog, overtime
just twenty seconds til we're swept by the tide
we're treading water in the dead of night
and we're speechless, just speechless
Cos' you've got me right where you want me
as a tsunami tide tolls over the landscape that we built a home in
inside of our minds
Staring skywards waiting for a sign
up to our necks in it til the day brings us light
and our whole lives are flashing before our eyes
and we're speechless
Cos' you've got me right where you want me
as a tsunami tide tolls over the landscape that we built a home in
inside of our minds
So we fall and we break
and we make the same mistakes
like we always, always do
and we crawl, intertwined
forced apart from the inside
like we always, always knew
and I'm speechless
Twenty seconds on the backlog, overtime
just twenty seconds til' you're no longer mine.
Lyrics: Monday Morning
Hello Monday Morning, try and talk your way out of this one
for today's grand performance try and make the most of the love thats left
As you board the train or park the car
Fly me to where you are
and I'll sleep in on your shoulder
trying to forget the everything that weighs you down
Tongue-tied, staring at the ceiling all night
trying to believe that sometime, one day, maybe we might just come around
and stop running so fast
Hello Monday's calling, try and talk your way out of this one
It's just motorways of empty cars, full speed stop and starts
But I'm sleeping on your shoulder
trying to forget the everything that weighs you down
Tongue-tied, staring at the ceiling all night
trying to believe that sometime, one day, maybe we might just come around
and stop running so fast
Lyrics: Marble Attic
A step into the unknown
with the nightmares creeping in
and at the bottom of the ocean
you keep looking back, take a look at yourself
You're becoming someone else
Oh yeah, I can feel again
Like my life has a template
as I choke on an overdose
it's like a stab in the back on a clean bill of health
You're running with your eyes closed
yeah with the seventh deadly sin
it's like living in slow motion
you keep looking back, take a look at yourself
You're becoming someone else
Oh yeah, I can feel again
Like my life has a template
as I choke on an overdose
it's like a stab in the back on a clean bill of health
You're becoming someone else
Lyrics: In The Name
I couldn't find my home
so I burnt all my clothes
I burnt everything I own
but I can't shake this cold
Like a thief in the night yeah I lost my mind that day
and as hard as I try yeah it just won't go my way
like the hangover guilt that you just can't wash away
washed upon shore, served on a plate
You know I won't be afraid
Gonna wash my hands before those pearly gates
and then I'll be on my way
in the name of the good lord Jesus I'll be saved
So now I walk these streets alone
speaking a lowly monotone
yeah in a stolen hotel robe
from the life, from the life I used to own
Like a rat in a trap I get caught in the act some days
and as hard as I try yeah I just can find an escape
flying high as a kite I get pulled through the atmosphere
washed upon shore, served on a plate
You know I won't be afraid
Gonna wash my hands before those pearly gates
and then I'll be on my way
in the name of the good lord Jesus I'll be saved
by the word, in the eyes, in the name, in the life, for my faith, for my pride
for my truths and my lies, for my pain, for my sins,
for just tryina' find somewhere to begin
by the word, in the eyes, in the name of the good lord Jesus I'll be saved.
Lyrics: A&E
Sixty seconds time, weightless weightless
You just try to settle it
As he looks into your eyes, he says, if says if
If you just only know, only know
Oh
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
Oh this is not an accident
No, this is
Just how you planned it
So she looks into your eyes
And screams say something, Say that your heart beats for me
Are we breathing
Are we breathing
Ohh
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
Oh this is not an accident
No, this is
Just how you planned it
You'll remember me in the morning
You'll remember me tonight
And say this is not an accident
No this is
Just how you planned it
You've got blood on your dirty hands
You've got mud on your dirty face
You either live up to my demands
Or take your secrets to your grave, just go
Oh this is not an accident
No, this is
Just how you planned it
You just try to settle it
As he looks into your eyes, he says, if says if
If you just only know, only know
Oh
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
Oh this is not an accident
No, this is
Just how you planned it
So she looks into your eyes
And screams say something, Say that your heart beats for me
Are we breathing
Are we breathing
Ohh
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
This is not an accident
This is an emergency
Oh this is not an accident
No, this is
Just how you planned it
You'll remember me in the morning
You'll remember me tonight
And say this is not an accident
No this is
Just how you planned it
You've got blood on your dirty hands
You've got mud on your dirty face

The Morning Parade Story
Morning Parade are a five piece band from Harlow, Essex. It comprises Steve Sparrow, lead vocals and guitar, Phill Titus, bass, Chad Thomas, guitar, Ben Giddings, piano/synths and Andrew Hayes, drums. They make rock tracks with a distinct 90s dance anthem influence.
2007:
Steve and Phil met whilst at school and even worked together as labourers. They met Chad at college and were three of the members in another band called Anotherstory. The members all met at college between 2000 and 2004. Steve was the lead vocalist and also played the piano and guitar, Phil was the bassist and backing vocalist and Chad played the guitar and piano. The other two members were Mike Pope, who played guitar, and Charlie Gadson the drummer. They played experimental/ alternative rock and their first single was 'Traffic'. The band split in 2007. You can still pick up the 'Traffic EP' on iTunes!

2008
Steve (in between Anotherstory and Morning Parade) toured the local scene of Harlow and Bishop's Stortford, with footage of him playing acoustic versions of some of his songs still available on You Tube. During this time he became aware of Andy and Ben, who were to become the final two members of Morning Parade. The name came about from the days when Phil was working as a plasterer and Steve his labourer. It used to require early mornings and travelling to get to their various jobs. They referred to this as doing the 'morning parade'. They also say the name refers to the transition period between night and day.

2009
This was the year they started to get noticed by major record labels. Whilst still having their respected day jobs they supported Glasvegas and headlined their own show in their hometown of Harlow (which since has became a massive event in the town every time Christmas arrives). With the release on their website of a couple of demos 'A&E' and 'Marble Attic' they gained lots more fans as blogs and websites went crazy for them!

2010
In May 2010 signed to Parlophone, a major British label, which includes artists such as Coldplay and Kylie Minogue. They all quit their day jobs and focused on recording an EP. They all saved up and chose Jason Cos as the producer, instead of an EP the label decided to release the songs they have recorded and put them for sale as collectors items in the form of limited 7" vinyls. The songs recorded were; Under The Stars and Monday Morning (on one 7") and Your Majesty and In The Name, which both respectively had live versions on the flip-side recorded at Cambridge Junction around April time of 2010.
Playing festivals all over the UK and supporting major bands such as Ash, Feeder and Goldhawks they generated more and more buzz.

2011
2011 saw them play Monto Water Rats in London on the 18th of January, as this was a headline show they played a brand new song called 'Seasick'. This also was the time of the year they were touring around the country to gain exposure for the latest release; A&E. This was released 28th of Feburary, the B-Side to this is a fan favourite called 'Marble Attic'. Around this time they supported 'Veto' in massive venues across Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
A month later the lads played a special show for Banquet Records in Kingston-Upon-Thames, they played an acoustic set, the first one witnessed live by an audience. On the same day they headlined New Slang and débuted a brand new song 'On Your Shoulders', this song went on to be their next single released for Record Store Day 2011. March and April saw them support 'The Wombats' on their UK tour and Europe tour.

On Thursday 12th May 2011 the event for the Scala show was re-scheduled, speculation was thrown around for a few hours to why this happened. Later on that day the band sent out an email telling all, it was moved from 9th June 2011, to 26th September 2011, this was so that people would be able to hear the album before it came out. So the album is due to be released around the 12th/19th or 26th of September 2011. As an apology the band released 'On Your Shoulders' upon the masses in the same email. This song will not appear on the up-coming album.
The album once again got moved to a later date, but this time with the promise that we would be able to hear some of the new tracks. 'Close To Your Heart' was a free download on their website and facebook page. Then every Monday morning (for 5 weeks running up to the Scala date) the tracks that were carefully streamed were, 'Monday Morning', 'Blue Winter', 'Carousel', 'Running Down The Aisle' and 'Speechless'. These were a teaser for the album and acted as a promotion for the Scala show.
September - October 2011
The day after the Scala show the band released details on a new London headline show, this time in March and in Heaven under Charing Cross station. A few weeks later they announced details of the new single 'Us & Ourselves' which was a stand alone single released in October, the European EP was out just in time for their Europe tour dates with The Kooks, Wombats and Friendly Fires. You can find details on the release by clicking the 'Releases' tab at the very top of the page. The album was unofficially announced two days after that after a few fans found it available on the EMI website to pre-order. At the time of writing this (29th October) the album will be self-titled rather than the speculated title 'Us & Ourselves'.
November 2011
'Us & Ourselves' will have a digital only release in the UK and will include one of their oldest songs 'Youth' which has been re-worked by their producer. The BarFly gig for December was announced and SOLD OUT in just under an hour! Steve has said this will be their last local-ish show of the year, and with a 150 capacity crowd it's going to be great as they'll be playing the album in it's entirety!
